**本サイト以下では、CREST・さきがけ・ACT-X・AMED-CREST・PRIMEを総称して「CRESTシリーズ」と呼びます。

 

2020年度 CREST・さきがけ・ACT-X・AMED-CREST・PRIMEの獲得に役立つ情報をURAが提供します。

はじめに

公募情報は必ずJST/AMEDのサイト（下記）で確認してください。公募情報がまれに更新されることがあります。

CRESTシリーズが公募する研究計画

CRESTシリーズでは、いくつかの「研究（開発）領域」が定められ、ぞれぞれの研究領域に対して「研究（開発）統括」が設定した領域の狙いが提示されます。申請者は研究領域の狙いに対して高度にマッチした研究計画を提案することが求められます。

それぞれの研究領域は文科省の定める戦略目標・研究開発目標（の少なくとも一つ）に対応しますので、それらの文章も研究領域の狙いの理解に役立ちます。

CRESTシリーズの研究資金は「基礎研究」のためのものであり、直接的に事業化や社会実装等のアウトプットを求めることはありません。ただし将来イノベーションにつながることを意識した研究計画であることが期待されています。

 

公募される研究（開発）領域についての情報源：

研究領域の情報として以下の内容が公開されています。これらを活用しつつ、自身の研究に関連のある領域の狙いについての理解を深めるためにご活用ください。

公募説明会では領域（開発）統括の生の声が聞けたり、統括に直接質問をすることで領域の狙いを深く理解できる可能性があります。

都合がつかず出席できない場合でも多くの場合当日のビデオが後日公開されますので、申請を考えているかたは視聴をお勧めします。

※申請前に大学本部による承認が必要です。学内締め切りは4/28となります。申請予定の方は、応募予定である旨を外部資金課(yauchi.jun.gp[at]un.tsukuba.ac.jp or 2267)までご一報ください。

CREST・さきがけ・ACT-X、AMED-CREST・PRIMEの特色

同じ研究領域に採択された研究者が集まる会議で高度かつ密度の濃い議論が戦わされることがCRESTシリーズの特色の一つです。そのようなCREST/さきがけ仲間は研究人生の財産となります。

個人型研究。博士の学位取得後8年未満(2020/4/1時点）が対象。進捗優良の課題に希望により「加速フェーズ」（１年以内）の支援が与えられます。

Here we provide information useful for potential applicants for CREST/PRESTO/ACT-X/AMED-CREST/PRIME which are high profile grants promoting basic sciences in specified targeted areas.  Please check out  JST  and AMED  website.  They occasionally update their contents.

We call CREST/PRESTO/ACT-X/AMED-CREST/PRIME collectively “CREST series” here.

What is special for CREST/PRESTO/ACT-X/AMED-CREST/PRIME which we collectively call CREST series hereafter

①Grant money

  • CREST：  150-500 Million yen/proposal
  • AMED-CREST: -300 Million yen/proposal
  • PRESTO：30-40 Million yen/proposal
  • PRIME: -40 Million yen/proposal
  • ACT-X:     5-6 Million yen/proposal 

②Grant period

  • CREST/AMED-CREST: up to 5.5 years
  • PRESTO/PRIME:         up to 3.5 years
  • ACT-X:                      up to 2.5 years  (additional one-year support can be given for a proposal qualified in an acceleration phase)

③ Aim

The aim of CREST/PRESTO/ACT-X/AMED-CREST/PRIME is to promote basic researches in specific areas which will possibly lead to applications. 

④CREST vs PRESTO vs ACT-X:

  • CREST/AMED-CREST supports a research team working on a high impact scientific project.
  • PRESTO/PRIME  supports an individual researcher working on a high impact scientific project.
  • ACT-X supports an individual researcher who has spent less than 8 years after getting PhD.

⑤Benefit that funded researchers enjoy:

Funded researchers get together at an annual closed meeting for each specified research area and enjoy intensive discussions.  Colleagues you meet at the meeting will become life-long friends who will be valuable assets throughout your research career.

“Research Areas” in CREST series

   In the CREST series, multiple “Strategic Research Targets” or Kenkyu Senryaku Mokuhyos are predetermined and published at the MEXT web page.  Each Research Area for which you apply for corresponds to at least one of the Strategic Research Targets.  An applicant is supposed to propose a research project that highly matches to the “Research Area” for which he/she applies for.

URA’s support for your application

  1. In-person discussion on your application strategy
    URA members will visit your office to discuss your application strategy.
  2. Editing your research proposal
    URA members try to improve the clarity and effectiveness of your proposal on the email basis.
  3. Mock interview

    URA members will set up a mock interview session for those who passed a document screening.  Experts in the applicant’s research field and/or former awardees of CREST/PRESTO etc. will be invited for a mock reviewer.
