今年も開催！「遺伝研メソッド*1」

本学研究者の科学プレゼンテーション能力の向上を目的として、「遺伝研メソッド*1」科学英語プレゼンテーション講座を開催します。参加希望者は本ページ下のリンクからお申込みください。

*1 遺伝研メソッドとは、国立遺伝学研究所が独自に開発した英語と科学的思考の両方を強化するための科学プレゼンテーションの教育プログラムです。科学者としての経験から気づいた発表のコツや、良く見られる間違い、失敗などを材料にして、科学者目線で作られています。

今年度はTRiSTARバージョンとして、「遺伝研メソッド」の主な対象である生命科学・理工学系の研究者だけでなく、人文科学・社会科学系など幅広い分野の研究者にも向けた学びの多い内容となっています。

注意：受講の仕方について

  • 1回目（12月）・2回目（1月）とも同一の内容で開講します（→「各講座の内容」を参照）。
    1. ～ 6. の各回について、1回目（12月）・2回目（1月）どちらに受講してもOKです。
    例：1. ～ 3. および5., 6. を12月に受講するが、12/19は都合が悪いので4. を1/19に受講する
  • 1. ～ 6. の各回は独立した内容ですので、必ずしも1. から順番に受講しなくてもOKです
    例：3., 4., 6. を12月に受講するが、1., 2., 5. を1月に受講する

Training Course in Scientific Presentation using the "NIG Method" (Dec. 2023 and Jan. 2024）

Want to hone your skills in scientific presentations? The course will help not only to improve your presentations, but also to make your draft papers and applications better!

“NIG Method*1” comes again!

The Research Administration/Management (URA) Office and TRiSTAR office will hold a training course for scientific presentation using the “NIG Method*1” with the aim of improving the presentation skills of researchers in the university. Please register through the link at the bottom of this page.

 

*1 “NIG method” is an original educational program on scientific presentation to strengthen both English and scientific thinking. It was developed at the National Institute of Genetics (NIG) and is designed from a scientist’s point of view, using presentation tips, common mistakes and failures noticed through experience as a scientist.

This course is an enhanced TRiSTAR version of this program. It will be offered in a multidisciplinary format that will be a learning experience not only for researchers in the life, physical, and engineering sciences, but also for those in the humanities.

Attention: How to take the course

  • Both the first (December) and second (January) sessions will be held with the same content (see “Contents”).
  • You can take the first (December) or second (January) session for each of 1. through 6.
    • e.g.: 1. to 3. and 5. and 6. are to be taken in December, but 12/19 is not convenient, so 4. is to be taken on 1/19.
  • Each of the sessions 1. through 6. are independent, so you do not necessarily have to take them in order starting with 1.
    • e.g.: You can take 3., 4. and 6. in December, but take 1., 2. and 5. in January.
