The University of Tsukuba Research Administration/Management Office held the "UT-RUB Researchers Matching Kickoff Meeting–Neuroscience" online on December 21, 2021.
[Purpose]
To promote the international research collaboration between the University of Tsukuba and the Ruhr University Bochum (RUB) in Germany: To introduce the departments/researchers relevant to the discipline and research promotion activities of the two universities and to exchange opinions on how to match researchers.

[Overview/Outcome]
URAs Kudo, Ito, Sagoshi, and Science Manager (SM) Dannenberg introduced their departments related to neuroscience (above), and Mr. Baudzus introduced the Research Support Office (RSO) at RUB, including the following:
- The research fields and interests of three researchers from the Faculty of Library, Information and Media Science. (URA Ito)
- The research of several research groups at IIIS. (URA Kudo)
- Three projects including ‘memory’ in their themes and other projects of the Research Department of Neuroscience, and the IGSN-DAAD scholarship offered by the International Graduate School of Neuroscience (IGSN) (https://www.ruhr-uni-bochum.de/igsn/index.html). (SM Dannenberg)
- The research interests of eight researchers from the Divisions of Psychology and Disability Sciences. (URA Sagoshi)
- The RSO's services such as events organization and project implementation and management, and the domestic/international funding(Horizon Europe, Rothschild Foundation, NIH, etc.) the office promotes. (Mr. Baudzus)
Both parties agreed to exchange their presentation materials after the meeting and to consider matching researchers at each university/department.
