TAKESHITA, Nobuaki

Supporting Office for the Development of Young Human Resources

"I want to be a co-creator with researchers" I became a member of the URA with this in mind. I hope that my involvement with researchers will be a catalyst for their development and growth, while being stimulated by other URA members with various specializations. I look forward to working with you.

What kind of career have you passed through so far?

Pursuing what's new in drug discovery research
After completing postgraduate studies at the Faculty of Pharmacy, I contributed to the exploring compounds for clinical development as a drug discovery researcher at a domestic pharmaceutical company based on my expertise in pharmacology. After receiving doctoral degree from the University of Tokyo, I had the opportunity to made research at the University of Texas, USA, and has been involved in pathophysiological research, collaborative research with academia and others, and drug repositioning research in multiple disease areas, including inflammation immunology, neuroscience, pain, osteochondral diseases, cardiovascular, metabolic diseases and rare diseases. Recently, I have also been involved in genomic drug discovery research utilizing data science, support for external collaboration and support for the development of young researchers. Drug discovery is an integrated science and competition against the world is tough, but I have teamed up with experts in each of the basic research and clinical development fields, and have enjoyed drug discovery in the midst of severity.

What are important things/values/significance/ in your work?

Logical thinking, deep listening, honesty & ideas
I believe that building good trusting relationships with the researchers helps things run smoothly. To this end, I place importance on being consistent in logic, listening carefully, being sincere and new ideas that emerge from communication.

What are your future goals and prospects?

To dream of the development of my own and researchers
To become a trusted Research Administrator. If I can also contribute to supporting and developing researchers by providing them with opportunities to create new ideas, strengthening their expertise and integrating knowledge from outside their field of expertise, and providing attractive solutions that meet their needs, while staying close to them and considering my own experience and the perspectives of corporate researchers. I would be happy.
