On February 24, 2014, Kick-off Symposium of MEXT Program for Promoting the Enhancement of Research Universities “Strategy of International Development through Collaboration between Research Universities and Corporations” was held successfully at JP Tower Hall, and visited by 140 attendees including sales and marketing representatives from corporations.
We received numerous inquiries on presentation panels by URA and poster presentations of major research centers of University of Tsukuba, which shows high level of public interest in Industry-Academia collaborations.
Visited National Taiwan University
2014.02.27On February 21, 2014, the University of Tsukuba President, Kyosuke Nagata and 42 members of faculty and staff attended the 1st National Taiwan University and University of Tsukuba Joint Faculty Conference as one of the activities to encourage further international collaborative research.
At National Taiwan University in Taipei, over 200 faculties, staff and students participated including Taiwan University President Pan-Chyr. The conference was consisted with two parts of plenary session and section meetings. At the plenary session both universities discussed the educational system, followed by presentations of their research. On the day two, there were section meetings of different fields of Humanities, Social Sciences, Life & Agriculture Sciences, Medicine and Global Health, and Nursing.

U Tsukuba is going to sign a new agreement with the University of East Anglia to promote friendship and co-operation in March. In commemoration of this agreement, U Tsukuba will hold the Kickoff Symposium for Tsukuba-Norwich Collaborative Research Networks.
